Relocating or retiring to Arizona?
Why Tucson?
"The Old Pueblo" is one of the Southwest's friendliest cities.
With a small town feel and big city opportunities and
attractions, Tucson retains the feeling of its roots while
enhancing its current prominence as "the" place to visit and
live. Known for
its “Five C’s” Tucson was the heart of Arizona’s early growth.
Cotton, Cattle, Copper, Citrus and Climate are still part of the
Arizona legacy. However, climate is the dominant “C” in today’s
Tucson. The city of more than 500,000 people now boasts many
other attractions for both businesses and residents.

Heritage
Highlands residents attend symphonic concerts, opera
productions, ballet performances, plays and other musical
events. Fine art and wildlife museums, botanical gardens and a
zoo are just some of the venues enjoyed by our residents. Kitt
Peak, one of the most famous observatories in the U.S., is
within an hour’s drive and Kartchner Caverns is a breathtaking
experience. The annual Gem Show each winter brings
thousands of buyers, sellers and browsers to various venues
around the greater Tucson area. The University of Arizona is home to a number of
museums and exhibitions open to the public.
Sporting
events abound. Spring training games with the Colorado Rockies
and Arizona Diamondbacks are always a
draw. The U of A teams have a host of HH residents as loyal
fans; basketball, football, and the women’s softball teams offer
ample opportunities for watching world-class amateur athletes.
One annual
event not be missed is the Tucson Rodeo. Even Tucson school
children are given the day off when the Rodeo Parade takes
place. A true western tradition, from the clowns to the barrel
racing and roping events, February is the month to schedule a
day at the rodeo.
